Founded in 1921, today hmv is the biggest seller of physical music in the UK, bolstered significantly by the increased appetite for vinyl from both new and old artists; 2017 was the biggest year of sales for vinyl since the 1980’s.

With the new HubBox integration, hmv’s customers will be able to pick up their CDs, DVDs and video games from over 4,200 HubBox locations across the UK, as well as from hmv’s own stores.

The addition of the new delivery option is part of a wider initiative to ensure that customers are having the most convenient and seamless experience when they shop online.

hmv are responding to the latest research, which shows that nearly three-quarters of customers would like the option to pick up their order from a local collection point (IMRG).  Additionally, 56% of online shoppers rated delivery choice as the most important factor when deciding whether to make a purchase from an online retailer, according to a study conducted by PostNord in 2017.

hmv Click Collect service
With the new HubBox integration, hmv’s customers will be able to pick up their CDs, DVDs and video games from over 4,200 HubBox locations across the UK, as well as from hmv’s own stores.

Retailers offering Click & Collect as a delivery option see far more benefits than merely a reduction in customer queries. Click & Collect supports checkout conversion rates, but perhaps more significantly recent analysis shows that Click & Collect orders have a higher average order value (AOV) than home deliveries, by an average of 12%.

HubBox’s Click & Collect solution can be integrated directly at checkout, making these benefits accessible to ever more retailers, who are now able to add the delivery option without making any changes to their courier or fulfilment process.

HubBox founder and CEO, Sam Jarvis said: “hmv are leading the way when it comes to adopting new technologies and putting customers at the centre of the shopping experience, whether online or offline. hmv truly understand the importance of consistent innovation and we’re delighted to be supporting them in delivering customer convenience through Click & Collect.

Phil Browes, Head of E-commerce at hmv added: “We are excited to add 4,200 additional Click & Collect locations to our existing store base via our partnership with HubBox. This supports our commitment to provide customers throughout the UK with fast, convenient ways to shop whether via our retail stores or online at www.store.hmv.com.”
